Several hundred years in the future, a group of Terran outcasts set up a colony in a solar system on the edge of the galaxy. Known as the Terran Confederacy, they maintain a harsh and iron-fisted rule. As the Terrans expand, they come closer to a planet known as Aiur. On that planet live a far advanced and enigmatic race known as the Protoss. Also, a voracious, insect-like species has been spotted throughout the sector.
